How do you tell when a jackfruit is ripe? |
Jackfruits are ripe when they emit an aroma like juicyfruit gum, the plates on the surface of the skin separate and flatten, or there is a color shift. Of these methods, a ripe fruit may exhibit any combination of them. If a jackfruit is allowed to overripen on a tree, the fruit quality is diminished, becoming watery.
